The Multivan replaces the existing Volkswagen Caravelle, offering clients up to seven seats and the ideal blend of practicality, comfort, and safety for whatever their requirements, from chauffeuring to the daily school run to vacation excursions.

The Volkswagen Multivan has been given a new name to reflect its predecessor's entire redesign while providing the same adaptability to the Caravelle's devoted following. Furthermore, the new minivan will not be constructed on the Transporter chassis but on the MQB architecture developed by the Volkswagen Group.

The Volkswagen Multivan features an entirely new external design that pays respect to the DNA of its forefathers, going back to the 1985 Transporter T3, with a horizontal design line and full-width grille and headlamps to give it a contemporary and dynamic appearance. The A-pillars have been redesigned to increase vision, and the front and rear light signatures are distinctive. The front air intakes have been lowered and painted the same color as the car, paying homage to the legacy of the rear air-cooled engines of the previous three generations while highlighting the future of the hybrid powertrain.

The VW Multivan has a width of 1,941mm, a length of 4,973mm, a height of up to 1,903mm, and a wheelbase of 3,124mm. A larger variant with a length of 5,173mm is also available. Overall, the new generation features a longer wheelbase and a broader, lower profile, both of which are intended to enhance aerodynamics, reduce fuel consumption, and extend range. In addition, the vehicle is available with wheels up to 19" in three different configurations: "Multivan," "Life," and "Style."

Optional features include a panoramic glass roof with LowE laminated safety glass to decrease incoming heat radiation by 44%, an electrically operated rear hatch, and power sliding doors with gesture control for ease of access.

The Volkswagen Multivan comes standard with LED headlights, but these may be changed to interactive IQ.LIGHT - LED matrix headlights give a constant full-beam without blinding approaching drivers and dynamic cornering to provide accurate illumination throughout curves, as an additional component of the daytime running lights, the IQ.LIGHT system includes an illuminated LED lateral bar in the radiator grille.

The new Volkswagen Multivan is more versatile and roomy on the inside than ever before, thanks to a new modular, lightweight seating system and unique table.

With enough room for up to seven seats, the back five chairs may be relocated and removed as needed, while the second row can be rotated 180 degrees to form a conference-style sitting configuration. In addition, individual seats have replaced the full-width bench seat in the third row, allowing single seats to be removed for complete flexibility.

For the new Multivan, a unique multi-function table has been created. This multi-function table can be shifted between any of the seating rows using the central track, and for the first time, it may be utilized as a center console between the front seats. In addition, the table is entirely detachable and has an adjustable height, three cup holders, and a storage bin.

The flat floor from front to back seats with no center console, made possible by eliminating the conventional handbrake, enables the adjustable seating and table track system. Instead, the parking brake is triggered electrically, either manually or automatically, through a button. In addition, the new VW Multivan is only available with an automatic DSG gearbox operated by shift-by-wire technology, which means the gearstick has been eliminated to enhance occupant space, and controls have been ergonomically incorporated into the instrument panel.

The Volkswagen Multivan comes standard with 469 liters of baggage capacity behind the third row of seats, which expands to 1,844 liters (1,850 liters with panoramic glass top) behind the second row. The total load capacity up to the front seats is 3,672 liters, up to 4,053 liters in the extended version with the panoramic glass roof.

The cockpit has been entirely overhauled, and a new multi-function steering wheel has been added. Touch controls provide you quick access to settings, including air conditioning, seat heating, and music volume.

The 10.25-inch 'Digital Cockpit' screen and the 10.0-inch infotainment touchscreen are located in the centerline. The new, minimalist shift-by-wire DSG controls are centrally positioned between the two on a high-gloss black surface. Next to this are two USB-C ports as usual and a tray for optional inductive smartphone charging. A head-up display is offered for the first time on a Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles model. 'Ready 2 Discover' is the standard infotainment system with an integrated eSIM to provide online safety and convenience. We Connect is available for free for an indefinite amount of time and includes breakdown help, car status, and parked position.

We Connect Plus (free for the first three years) offers additional features such as the ability to remotely lock and unlock the minivan or manage the optional auxiliary heating by smartphone. In addition, we Connect Plus offers additional navigation-related services, such as online map updating and traffic information, when used in conjunction with the more advanced, optional Discover Media and Discover Pro navigation systems. We Connect Plus also offers Volkswagen Multivan eHybrid owners additional options, such as pre-set the vehicle's interior temperature and monitor the charging process through a smartphone.

All multimedia systems can be paired with a Harmon Kardon sound system customized for the Multivan. Aside from 14 high-end loudspeakers hidden behind precision laser-cut panels, a 16-channel Ethernet amplifier with 840 watts, and four sound settings, the sound system employs the 'Fraunhofer Sonamic Panorama Algorithm,' which is capable of separating out the individual sources of a stereo recording and distributing them evenly across a U-shaped acoustic stage to generate the best sound.

The Volkswagen Multivan has over 34 driver aid technologies that improve safety, comfort, and convenience. The Front Assist area monitoring system is included, and it features City Emergency Braking, Dynamic Road Sign Display, and the Lane Assist system. Other new systems include Car2X, which allows local communication with other vehicles and highway infrastructure to provide notifications of any danger, side protection, crosswind assist, turn-off assist, and an exit warning system, which signals of any bicycles or vehicles approaching from behind when opening a door.

The Volkswagen Multivan introduces IQ DRIVE Travel Assist: combines predictive Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist to make long-distance trips safer and more accessible. Area View, an accurate 360-degree depiction of the vehicle utilizing four cameras and viewable on the 10-inch touchscreen display, is also available on the new Multivan to make parking and maneuvering as safe and straightforward as possible.

The new Volkswagen Multivan, which has a towing capacity of up to 2,000kg and is based on the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform, is available with three engine options, including a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option for the first time in a Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles vehicle.

The new Volkswagen Multivan eHybrid combines a 1.4 TSI 150 hp engine with an 85kW electric motor to create a 160kW / 218 hp power output, offering silent, zero-emission driving for short, urban excursions while still allowing customers to enjoy longer travels. In addition, the VW Multivan eHybrid is equipped with a six-speed DSG transmission. The 13kWh lithium-ion battery is placed beneath the flat floor of the Multivan, conserving interior space and reducing the vehicle's center of gravity for better handling. The charging port is placed on the front wing's right side.

The front-wheel-drive minivan is also available with two turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engines: a 1.5 TSI 136 hp and a 2.0 TSI 204 hp. Next year, four-cylinder turbo diesel with a power output of 150 PS will be added. All of them come equipped with a seven-speed DSG transmission.
